Understanding the legal framework for adult safeguarding, Section 42 enquiries, Safeguarding Adults Boards, and the duty of care.
Types of Adult Abuse
Physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, financial and material abuse, neglect and acts of omission, discriminatory abuse, organisational abuse, domestic abuse, modern slavery, and self-neglect.
Mental Capacity and Safeguarding
Introduction to the Mental Capacity Act 2005, the five statutory principles, assessing capacity, best interests decisions, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
Raising Concerns and Making Referrals
How to raise a safeguarding concern within your organisation, making a referral to the local authority, whistleblowing, and the importance of accurate record-keeping.

Renewal Guidance
