Dedicated to Raising Safeguarding Standards Across the UK
We are a team of safeguarding practitioners, educators, and healthcare professionals committed to making high-quality safeguarding training accessible to every organisation that needs it.
Why We Started SafeGuard Learning
SafeGuard Learning was founded by a team of safeguarding practitioners who saw a gap in the training market. Too many online safeguarding courses were either too generic, too expensive, or failed to reflect the real-world complexity of safeguarding work. We set out to change that. Since our launch, we have trained over 50,000 learners across more than 3,200 organisations, from small nurseries to large NHS Trusts and multi-academy trusts. Our courses are designed by practitioners, for practitioners — grounded in real safeguarding experience and aligned with the latest UK legislation and statutory guidance.
Our Mission
To make high-quality safeguarding training accessible to every organisation that works with children and adults at risk across the UK, ensuring that all staff have the knowledge and confidence to keep people safe.
Our Vision
A society where safeguarding is embedded in every organisation's culture, every professional feels confident in their safeguarding responsibilities, and no one falls through the gaps.
What We Stand For
Child and Adult-Centred
Every course we design and every decision we make starts with the question: does this make children and adults at risk safer? The answer must always be yes.
Quality Without Compromise
We never cut corners. Our courses are independently reviewed by safeguarding experts and updated regularly to reflect changes in legislation, guidance, and best practice.
Accessible and Inclusive
We believe safeguarding training should be available to everyone who needs it. Our courses are designed to be accessible, affordable, and inclusive of all learners.
Evidence-Based Practice
Our content is grounded in research, serious case reviews, and safeguarding practice reviews — we learn from what has gone wrong to help our learners get it right.
Collaboration and Partnership
We work closely with our client organisations to understand their unique safeguarding challenges and ensure our training meets their specific needs.
Continuous Improvement
Safeguarding is never 'done'. We continuously review and improve our courses, platform, and support to ensure we remain the best in the sector.
How We Align With UK Standards
Every course we design is built around the statutory guidance and regulatory frameworks that govern safeguarding in the UK.
Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
All our children's safeguarding courses are fully aligned with the latest KCSIE statutory guidance, including Part One requirements for all staff and the DSL role requirements.
Care Act 2014
Our adult safeguarding courses are built around the Care Act 2014 statutory framework, including Section 42 enquiries, Making Safeguarding Personal, and the six safeguarding principles.
Working Together to Safeguard Children
We embed the principles of multi-agency working, information sharing, and child-centred practice throughout our course content, in line with Working Together statutory guidance.
CQC Fundamental Standards
For health and social care providers, our courses are designed to support compliance with CQC fundamental standards for safeguarding, staff training, and fit and proper persons.
Ofsted Education Inspection Framework
Our courses help schools and colleges demonstrate a strong culture of safeguarding — a key focus of Ofsted inspections under the Education Inspection Framework.
Prevent Duty Guidance
Our Prevent Duty training meets the requirements of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 for specified authorities to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism.
