Understanding the Prevent Duty
What the Prevent Duty is, the legal framework under the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015, the objectives of the Prevent strategy, and which organisations have a duty.
Radicalisation and Extremism
Understanding radicalisation as a safeguarding issue, the process of radicalisation, types of extremism (including extreme right-wing and Islamist extremism), and the vulnerabilities that increase risk.
Recognising and Responding to Concerns
Signs and indicators that someone may be being radicalised, how to respond to concerns appropriately, what to do if you have immediate concerns, and the importance of early intervention.
Channel and Making Referrals
Understanding the Channel programme, how to make a Prevent referral, what happens after a referral is made, and the multi-agency approach to supporting individuals at risk.
Assessment
Multiple-choice assessment with a pass mark of 80%. Unlimited retakes available at no extra cost.
Certification
On successful completion, you will receive a CPD-certified digital certificate. This can be used as evidence of Prevent Duty training compliance for Ofsted, CQC, or other regulatory inspections.
Renewal Guidance
